Her interest in bodywork therapy flowered from witnessing the power of reverent touch to heal the heart in ways that words cannot, and in recognizing that receiving touch is a need for every human being.
As a 2018 graduate of the East-West Healing Arts Institute, Therese was trained in Tuina and acupressure, elements of Traditional Chinese Medicine. These modalities promote the flow of vital energy (chi) in the body, helping to balance body systems, promote relaxation of the nervous system, and establish a feeling of vitality and wellness.
Therese especially enjoys working with people of diverse body types and ages including young people and older adults, as well as an end of life. She is honored to support people on their healing journeys through challenging emotional or physical experiences. She strives to create a safe and welcoming space for people of all cultural and gender identities and to provide physical adaptations as necessary. She has held an ongoing pursuit of personal spiritual growth including studies of meditation, shamanic wisdom and emotional awareness. In her free time, you will find her dancing with Madison hip-hop and street styles dance community.

Sinamay (Ashiatsu Fusion) is Al’s signature massage. Sinamay means loosely and artfully woven in Filipino. But as a therapist, Al brings to the table everything he is trained. That means that many different modalities may find their way into his sessions, as fit to his clients need, such as Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Hot Stone Massage, Reflexology, Aroma Therapy, Tui Na, Guasha, Cupping, Thai Massage, Ashi Thai, and more.
Al considers Madison his home. His passion to serve others budded from his involvement in social justice grassroots community organizing work in the Philippines where he was born. It continued to develop from years of work in the field of social services serving adults with developmental disabilities and traumatic brain injuries since he has immigrated to the US. Al believes in the values of mindful living.
Al’s Ashiatsu and Ashi-Thai services can be BOOK BY PHONE ONLY (608) 216-9500 to ensure treatment room availability. Before booking your ASHIATSU and Ashi Thai session, visit www.barefoothands.com to review important information on contraindications.
